Dennis Sotolongo was born in Havana,Cuba. He left Cuba with his family when he was three years old. Dennis’ father decided to make Puerto Rico their new home. Even as a young child, Dennis was interested in photography. Although at the time, he took pictures with an instamatic camera. The ocean captivated his interest when he entered college. During his college years he became certified as a Scuba diver (later Dive master) and became interested in underwater photography as he pursued a degree in Biology in(1981), at the Sacred Heart University, in Puerto Rico.
His portfolio consist of over 2,500 underwater slides taken in the water of Puerto Rico, the U.S.Virgin Islands,the British Virgin Islands, Mexico, the Cayman Islands, and the waters of Florida. Many of his pictures have been publihsed in varous magazines, almanacs and
books. Dennis’ photographs have also been purchased for use in advertising, restaurant decorations and personal home display.

Another aspect of his photographical expertice involves nature-wildlife, and scenic photography. These photographs have been taken in many places arround the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and other areas of the Caribbean. He has recieved many nationwide awards for his work.
